what did I learn?!
The most surprising thing that I learned about my topic is that there’s a sleep related eating disorder. It is when you eat while you are sleep walking. Since you are not aware of what you are doing you tend to eat alot more than usual. What you eat while your sleep walking doesn’t always include food. It also includes non-food items like house hold appliances. The people with this disorder also tend to eat faster and when they wake up they don’t remember anything.

Why this topic?!
The main reason I picked this topic is because in a way I can relate to it. No I'm not saying I use to have an eating disorder but I've always had problem with my body image or my weight. The people with this disease have the same problem except they have a weird and very harmful way with dealing with it. I also wanted to learn more about this topic. Not alot of people are aware of this disorder or don't know how to treat it. There are more than one type of eating disorders they are Anorexia Nervosa,Bulimia Nervosa,Compulsive Overeatingand Binge Eating Disorder.
Anorexia Nervosa
People with this type of eating disorder usually have a low self-esteem or have difficulty controlling their emotions. what usually causes it are things that penetrate you’re emotions such as stress, anxiety, unhappiness and feeling like life is out of control. Anorexia is a negative way to deal with these emotions.
When people have this disorder they tend to eat a large amount of food in a short period of time and then use behaviors such as taking laxatives or self-induced vomiting ,because they feel disappointed in themselves so they punish themselves for something they feel was a "crime". This can be a relation to how they feel about themselves, or how they feel over an event or events in their lives. Those suffering with Bulimia may seek binging and purging to avoid and let out feelings of anger, depression, stress or anxiety.
symptoms include: Recurring actions of rapid food consumption followed by guilt and purging (laxatives or self-induced vomiting), the feeling of lacking control over his or her eating behaviors, regularly in strict diet plans and exercise, the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, and/or diet pills and a constant concern with body image can all be warning signs someone is suffering with Bulimia

Compulsive Overeating
People with this disorder are more likely seen to have an addiction to food mainly because they use eating as a way to cope with their emotions or daily stresses and problems in their lives.
People tend to overweight with this disorder, they are usually aware that their eating habits are abnormal, but find little comfort because of society's harsh criticism .For example words like, "just go on a diet" are very hurtful to a person suffering Compulsive Overeating like "just eat" is to a person suffering with Anorexia. The person with this illness is at a risk for a heart attack, high blood-pressure and cholesterol, kidney disease and failure, arthritis and bone deterioration, and stroke.
warning signs are :
- Blaming failure in social and professional community on weight.
- Having the belief that food is their only friend.
- Being out of breath after light activities.
- High blood pressure and/or cholesterol.
- Leg and joint pain.
- Weight gain.
- Mood swings. Depression. Fatigue.
- Insomnia. Poor Sleeping Habits
Binge Eating Disorder.
Binge Eating Disorder is a combination of symptoms similar to those of Compulsive Overeaters and Bulimia. The victim goes on large binges, controllably eating large quantity of food in a short period of time (less than 2 hours), eating until they are uncomfortably full. The weight of the individual is either considered normal or over weight, and sufferers have a more difficult time losing weight .Reasons for Binge Eating can be similar to those of Compulsive Overeating; Using Binges as a way to hide from their emotions, to fill a empty feeling inside, and to cope with daily stresses and problems in their lives. Binging can be used as a way to keep people away, as each person may feel unloved. Like with Bulimia, Binging can also be used as self-punishment for doing "bad" things, or for feeling badly about themselves.

The person who has Anorexia may be sensitive about being seen as fat, or have the fear of becoming fat. Though not all people with Anorexia have this fear. They are sometimes afraid of losing control over the amount of food they eat, and the desire to control their emotions and reactions to their emotions. With a low self-esteem and need for acceptance they will turn to obsessive dieting and starvation as a way to control their weight.
Some signs or symptomes are obsessive exercise, calorie and fat gram counting, starvation, forced vomiting, using diet pills, laxatives to help control weight, and constant concern with body image.Bulimia Nervosa
